President Pervez Musharraf on Saturday underscored the imperative that talks with India should be "substantive and result-oriented".

Chairing a meeting with Foreign Minister and military and civil officers he stressed that for lasting peace and stability in South Asia progress must be made on the Kashmir issue.

Foreign Minister Kasuri and concerned federal secretaries briefed the participants of the meeting on various issues which constitute the agenda for Pakistan-India dialogue.

According to an official communication, the issues which were covered in the meeting included peace and security, Jammu and Kashmir, Wuller Barrage, promotion of friendly exchanges, Siachen, Sir Creek, terrorism and drug trafficking and economic and commercial co-operation.

Vice Chief of Army Staff General Muhammad Yousaf also attended the meeting.
